PIM Annual Conference 2019
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pipop Udorn
Dean of Thammasat Business School
It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the 46th PIM Conference at TBS. We are delighted that the meeting is taking place right here in historic Bangkok, the capital of our beautiful country, Thailand.
Here, we are surrounded by numerous attractions that are well worth a visit, such as the Temple of Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra-kaew, where the statue of the Emerald Buddha is housed. Apart from its beauty, the temple itself tells the story of our beloved King Rama IX, Bhumibol Adulyadej, who was ordained there and lived at Wat Bowonniwetwiharn Ratchaworawiharn as a novice. Not far away from the temple, you can walk to Democracy Monument which was built in 1939, not long after the establishment of this university. Both the monument and the university are connected as symbols of democracy. Indeed, we are known as The University of the People. There are many more interesting and symbolic attractions that await you when you explore, so please take a look around.
Thammasat Business School or TBS is one of the top and the second oldest business school in Thailand. TBS has two campuses, one here in central Bangkok, and the other at Rangsit in Pathum Thani. We are now accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. This is a guarantee of educational excellence both at national and international level. In fact, we are the first and only Triple Crown business school in Thailand and second business school in ASEAN, only nine-months behind SMU, and one of only ninety business schools around the world.
